EXPERIENCED
RNC Recon was started by Rex Baker. Rex started out with Detroit Diesel in the 1970’s in the old 2 cycle engine days. He owned and operated Boscobel Track and Roller in Wisconsin for seven years. He then managed Williams Cylinder Head in Nevada, Iowa for two years. Rex purchased Williams Cylinder head and changed the name to Midwest Cylinder Head. He soon moved the company into a new larger building in the Nevada Industrial Park. Rex owned and operated Midwest Cylinder Head for 15 years, selling the company in 2005, but he is still an integral part of the company. In Rex’s years of service and consulting his customers there were always inquiries about the Detroit Diesel Series 50 and Series 60 bull gears. The Detroit Diesel Series 50 and Series 60 bull gears were only available through Detroit Diesel’s Reliabilt Company. Thus, RNC Recon was created to supply another source for rebuilt 8.5, 11.1, and 12.7 Series 50 and Series 60 Detroit Diesel rebuilt bull gear assemblies. Rex now has over 35 years of experience working with diesel engines and their components. Through the years working as a field service mechanic and because of his emphasis on customer service while owning his own business, he has established a customer base that continues to come back and refer new people to him for his honesty and knowledge of diesel engines. Rex also proudly serves on the Indian Hills College Diesel Advisory Board. |
